Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers make thoughtful use of their free time, whether at home, at a gathering or out exploring a place. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article.
What to pitch
Strong ideas have a defined reader, a distinct subject and a useful point. You might compare two ways to shape an afternoon, explain the background to a pastime, or offer a focused plan for a particular kind of outing. Keep the scope manageable and make clear what readers will take away.
What makes a good submission
Use plain English, support factual claims and flag details that may vary by place or change over time. Original work is required; identify any material that is not yours and explain its source. We do not accept invented anecdotes, unsupported claims or copy built around a product placement.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a working title, a short summary, the intended reader and a brief note on why the subject suits Southern Leisure Guide. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication.
A good day has room to breathe
Leisure need not be elaborate to be memorable. We favour a clear plan, a sensible pace and space to notice what is around you.
